2024 Paris Olympic is in full flow and India is aiming high this time, like always there’s a lot of hope from India’s wrestling team. Since, India has a proud history in wrestling, with the first individual Olympic medal coming from wrestler KD Jadhav in 1952.

In the past four Olympics, India has won at least one medal in wrestling each time. So far, India has a total of seven Olympic wrestling medals.
Indian Wrestling Team for Paris 2024
This year, six Indian wrestlers will compete in the Paris Olympics. Out of these, five are women and one is a man. Here are their names:
- Aman Sehrawat (Men’s 57kg)
- Antim Panghal (Women’s 53kg)
- Vinesh Phogat (Women’s 50kg)
- Anshu Malik (Women’s 57kg)
- Nisha Dahiya (Women’s 68kg)
- Reetika Hooda (Women’s 76kg)
Seedings and Challenges
For the first time in Olympic wrestling, seedings have been introduced. Two Indian wrestlers, Aman Sehrawat and Antim Panghal, have been seeded. Antim Panghal is seeded fourth in the women’s 53kg category, and Aman Sehrawat is seeded sixth in the men’s 57kg category.
- Antim Panghal will compete against top wrestlers like Lucia Guzman from Ecuador, Maria Prevolarki, and Andreea Ana.
- Aman Sehrawat will face tough opponents such as world champion Stevan Micic and Kazakh wrestler Meirambek Kartbay.
